Lipid Systems is the spin-off company founded in 2009 by the members of the Laboratory for Biophysics of Macromolecular Aggregates at Wrocław Technical University. The first year of operation resulted in the promising outcome for the possible production of advanced liposomal anticancer drug formulation, which required largely extended set-up and additional subsidy. The financial support came from the Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ within the Operational Program – Innovative Economy (measure 3.1 – Initiating of Innovative Activity), which became a 20% - shareholder of the newly established company in July 2011. 

The company operates in the field of the targeted drug delivery systems by combining various scientific and engineering disciplines. The targeted drug delivery system is a new, economically attractive and knowledge based, pharmacological approach aiming at the specific delivery of the active pharmacological ingredient (API) directly to the targeted tissue. As a result the pharmacological effect can be optimized with the simultaneous reduction of the side effects.
